This is a short story written by Edgar Allan Poe, and published in 1838. The story follows an unnamed narrator and his wife Ligeia, a beautiful and intelligent woman. She falls ill and died very young. After her death, the narrator marries Lady Rowena. Rowena becomes ill and she dies as well. He stays with her body overnight and watches as Rowena slowly comes back from the dead β though she has transformed into her first wife, Ligeia…
